PARK RIDGE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A north suburban man is accused of taking computers, a radar detector and other electronics during a series of vehicle and garage burglaries in northwest suburban Park Ridge.

Oscar Montesinos, 20, is charged with one felony count of burglary to a motor vehicle for one of the incidents, Park Ridge police said in a statement. Investigators have since linked him to six other burglaries, all from Aug. 20-23.

Police claim Montesinos entered unlocked cars and took computers, garage door openers and other items, the statement said. He used the garage door openers to enter garages in search of other items, police claim.

Authorities found a radar detector, bags, chargers and other electronics after his arrest Tuesday, the statement said. Police believe Montesinos pawned other items.

Montesinos, of the 8400 block of Dempster Street in Niles, was scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday, but court information was not immediately available.

Niles police assisted in the investigation.
