Police arrest six suspects in connection to Manassas murder

Posted: Updated:
MANASSAS, Va. -  Police in Manassas have arrested all six of the suspects they were searching for in connection to the murder of a 26-year-old man found wrapped in carpet near a dumpster last weekend.

Investigators say Benjamin Contreras was found at the Colonial Village Apartments on Nicol Lane Sunday morning. He had apparent stab wounds, and police called his death suspicious. The Medical Examiner's office later ruled his death a homicide.

Police say the attack was not random, and that Contreras' death may be connected to a criminal street gang. On Friday, Manassas City Police said they have arrested all six of the suspects they were searching for in the case, including 24-year-old Juan Francisco Guevara, 25-year-old Mario Antonio Portillo, 22-year-old Argenis Sandoval, 18-year-old Jose Rafael Ramirez-Lopez, 20-year-old Ludwig Ulises Mena Romero and a 17-year-old male juvenile.

All six suspects are facing murder charges.
