Lush Food Bar reopens after co-founder's murder, suspect at large

Posted: Updated:

Three days after the co-owner of Lush Food Bar was shot and killed at a gas station in Arden Hills by his ex-boyfriend and former business partner, the Minneapolis eatery announced it will resume regular operations.

At 4 p.m., the doors to the restaurant, which is located at 990 Old Central Avenue, opened again. Normal hours are effective immediately at the 5-year-old bar and restaurant.

There's still no sign of the suspect in Monday's fatal shooting of 48-year-old Kelly Phillips. Anyone who knows where 44-year-old Ty Hoffman, whose legal name is Lyle Marvin Hoffman, is urged to call 911 or 651-266-7320.

Police believe Hoffman shot and killed Phillips at the Holiday gas station in Arden Hills after a verbal argument. The two arrived in the same dark BMW, and witnesses said Phillips tried to flee before he was shot in the back and the head. Authorities believe Hoffman fled in that car, and he has not been located since. Crimestoppers is now offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.
