Woman attacked while walking home from work

Police say a woman survived a vicious attack in DeKalb County on August 2.

According to police, that woman was walking home from work at night when a man tried to force himself on her.

The incident happened on DeKalb Avenue and Krog Street around 10:30 p.m.

Police tell FOX 5 the man grabbed the victim's hair, threw her to the ground, told her to be quiet and tried to get on top of her. She was able to break free, according to police.

The woman ran towards the Krog Street Tunnel and told police she heard the attacker follow her. The victim managed to run to a friend's house and called police.

Police are still searching for the attacker. The victim was able to give police a description of the suspect.
