Woman fends off attacker in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - A woman was able to fend off her attacker inside an apartment building in Brooklyn and the incident was captured on security camera video.

The suspect is seen approaching the woman, talking to her and when she keeps walking he pushes her to the ground, said police.

The woman who is in her 30s is able to fend off the attempted rapist before he takes off down the stairs.

The assault occurred on the third floor of the woman's home at about 1 a.m. on Saturday in Crown Heights.

The NYPD released the security camera footage in the hopes someone will recognize the man and contact them.

He is described by police as a black male, in his 20s, approximately 5'9" tall and 130 lbs. He was clean shaven, with close-cut hair and was wearing a T-shirt and blue jeans.
