Person pulled from ship canal on Southwest Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Crews pulled a person from the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal Wednesday night near the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

As of just before 7 p.m., Chicago Fire Department divers were searching for the person after he or she was seen jumping in to the canal near the 3800 block of South Pulaski, Fire Media Affairs said.

About 7:10 p.m, the person was pulled from the water and being treated by paramedics fire officials said. Further details were not yet available.
