CINCINNATI (WJBK) -  Michigan's gay marriage case will take center stage tomorrow at the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Ohio.

Right now -- a rally is underway in Cincinnati in anticipation of the hearing.

Activists advocates and supporters of equal marriage gathered in a park in Cincinati.

Wednesday a three-judge panel will hear same-sex marriage cases from four states - Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Jayne Rowse, from Michigan, said "I'm glad more people are coming out and getting behind this, showing this is an important issue."

April DeBoer said that she and Rowse are an "ordinary family that does ordinary family things that wants to protection of a normal family."

Rowse and DeBoer are the plaintiffs in the Michigan case who originally sued in federal court to jointly adopt their three children.

Judge Bernard Friedman said at the time in order to do so, they had to challenge Michigan's 2004 Constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

Friedman ruled in March that the ban violates the protection clause of the US Constitution. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette appealed that ruling - which led to this rally on this day.
