According to Tiffany Turner, actor's Anwan Glover manager, the actor was stabbed overnight at a DC nightclub.
According to Turner, Anwan 'Big G' Glover was attending an event last night, at Café Asia at 1720 I Street NW after his performance at Merriweather Post Pavillion.
During the event, inside of the club, chaos erupted in the crowd and Anwan was attacked by several unknown assailants. While defending himself, Anwan was stabbed once. He was hospitalized at George Washington University Hospital, released and expected to make a full recovery.
Police are still investigating!
Turner told FOX 5 "Anwan is no stranger to challenges and struggle, he has overcome many. It is unfortunate that a "man of the people" or anyone for that matter, cannot attend events without the possibility of injury just by being a bystander. Anwan "Big G' Glover always has and always will love his city, his fans and his fellow artists. This is an unfortunate situation and he hopes that he can bring awareness to the need for peace in our communities. He wants to thank his fans, followers and friends for their inquiries, well wishes, prayers and love."
The 41-year-old actor lives in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and most recently appeared in the Oscar-winning movie "12 Years a Slave."
