CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A baseball team from Chicago's South Side has a chance to reach the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn.

The Jackie Robinson West team won the Illinois championship last Saturday and are now headed to the Great Lakes Championships in Indianapolis. Last season, Jackie Robinson West came up one game short of advancing to Williamson.

The 11 and 12 year old players could become the first team from Chicago to reach the Little League World series in 30 years! Amazingly, the last team to make it that far was Jackie Robinson West back in 1983.

The team's first game will take place on Saturday at noon against a team from Burlington, Wis. and will be broadcast on ESPN3.  If the team keeps up their winning streak, they could remain in Indianapolis until August 9. he team is collecting donations.

The Little League World Series will begin on August 14 and will be celebrating its 75th anniversary!
