2 shot near Stone Mountain

Posted: Updated:

DeKalb Police are investigating an overnight shooting that injured two people in Stone Mountain.

A passer-by saw one of the victims in the street at the intersection of Covington Highway and Scarborough Road. Police say the 18-20 year-old had been shot at least twice, in the shoulder and mid-section.

A half-hour later, a second victim turned up at a local hospital, left there by a friend. Between the ages of 20-25, he too was shot multiple times.

Police believe both shootings are connected.

Detectives ended up at a home on E. Scarborough Trail, where they think one of the victims might live. They canvassed the area looking for clues and talked to witnesses.

The motive for the double shooting is unknown, but investigators suspect a robbery.
