4-year-old banned from doughnut shop

Posted: Updated:
4-year-old Justin Otero is a curious guy, but his curiosity got him into a lot of trouble at his local Connecticut doughnut store.

Over the weekend, 4-year-old Otero and his mom went to get doughnuts.

While they were there, the little boy asked a female customer if she was pregnant.
She wasn't, but instead of getting mad, she just shrugged it off.

The managers at Doughnut Inn weren't as forgiving.

According to Otero's mother, she and her son returned Wednesday morning and were told to leave.

The manager told them the young boy was rude to another customer.

Otero and his mom are planning to take their business elsewhere, but she's using this as a lesson for her little munchkin.

"There was a customer there, and he asked her if she had a baby in her belly. She said no, he said I'm sorry...," said Rebecca Denham, Justin's mom.

"It looked like she was pregnant and I asked her if she was pregnant," said Otero.

"My response was 'oh my goodness, I'm so embarrassed, I'm so sorry'," said Denham. "She said 'no problem, I get it all the time with the kids at nursery school."

"[The manager] said 'he's not allowed in here,' and I looked around, and said, 'him?' And she said 'yeah, he's rude.'"

"Somebody got mad because, he's really not very nice," said Otero.

"Some people, unfortunately are quick to pass judgment, and therefore we will take our money and business elsewhere," said Denham.

When contacted for a response, the manager and owner at the Monroe Doughnut Inn had no comment.
