MH17 INVESTIGATION - This morning Pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine are offering up to a 4 truce to let international specialists to investigate the wreckage of a Malaysia Airliner. Today rescue workers at the crash site said they had recovered one of its black boxes. The White House last night announced they've offered resources provided by the NTSB and the FBI. It's expected condolence books will be available at the Embassy's of Netherlands &Malaysia.

RETURN TO NAVY YARD - A top Navy Admiral says Washington Navy Yard workers will start returning in February to the building were 12 were fatally shot last September. Vice Adm. William Hilarides told defense contractors at a breakfast meeting Yeaterday in Arlington, Virginia, that he expects all 2,700 to be back in Building 197 by the end of April. The admiral says he's proud of the workers' resilience. But he says some suffer from post-traumatic stress from the shooting. DC police last week released a detailed after-action report on the incident.

REDSKINS TV NAME - CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said Thursday he won't tell on-air talent such as Jim Nantz and Phil Simms what they can or can't call the Washington Redskins. Owner Dan Snyder has vowed not to change the name, but some consider it a racial slur. With its new Thursday Night Football package CBS is scheduled to air 5 Redskin games this season. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell added that the league will not try to dictate to our broadcast partners how they cover the game and that whatever Washington is called is the network's decision.

GW'S BIRTHDAY - George Washington may be getting his birthday back. The House Appropriations Committee has approved a bill to move the holiday celebrating Washington’s Birthday back to his actual birthday, February 22. The move is being pushed by Virginia Rep. Frank Wolf (Washington's home state). Wolf says the generic "Presidents Day" has diminished the understanding of George Washington's unique role as both President, General and Founding Father.
