IMMIGRANT CHILDREN HEARING - 10:00 a.m.Prince William County is demanding answers from the federal government on immigrant children being brought to the county after crossing the border into the U.S. unaccompanied. So far Corey Stewart, chairman of the county's board of supervisors says he's gotten no response. Today State Department and Justice department officials will publicly face questions directly on the issue from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Senate Dirksen Building -419.

LOST IRS EMAILS - 9:00 a.m. - This morning we may get some new insight into the criminal investigation into the lost IRS emails of former official Lois Lerhner. Dep. Atty. General James Cole will testify at the House Oversight Committee
about the department's investigation into whether the agency targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. He will is expected to brief members of the Committee on the Justice Departments decision to investigate the disappearance of emails that went missing from the computer of Lois Lerner, who headed the IRS division that deals with tax-exempt. UN WW2 RECORDS - The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington has obtained a full copy of the U.N. War Crimes Commission archive that has largely been locked away for the past 70 years under restricted access at the United Nations. Today, the museum will announce it has made the entire digital archive freely available to visitors in its research room. Although information in the documents has long been known to investigators and historians, the public was kept out. Even researchers at the U.N. must petition for access through their governments.

SOCIAL MEDIA AFTERLIFE? - Should your emails, web albums and other online accounts die when you do? Or should you be able to pass them down to a family member like an old box of pictures? The Uniform Law Commission, who are appointed by state governments to standardize state laws, Wednesday endorsed the plan for "digital assets." It would give loved ones access to - but not control of - the deceased's digital accounts unless a will says otherwise. Some privacy advocates disagree and say accounts should end when you do.

Today's Weather:

@capitalweather: Thursday's digit: 9/10 - Someone stole summer! This day of blessedly dry, mild conditions comes perilously close to perfect. David, CWG

Today's History:

In 1918, Russia's Czar Nicholas II and his family were executed by the Bolsheviks.

In 1975, an Apollo spaceship docked with a Soyuz spacecraft in orbit in the first superpower link-up of its kind.

In 1996, TWA Flight 800, a Europe-bound Boeing 747, exploded and crashed off Long Island, New York, shortly after leaving John F. Kennedy International Airport, killing all 230 people aboard.

Bethesda has been named the second snobbiest small city in America. But here at FOX 5, we love Bethesda, so we had to hit the streets to meet some of the people there to find out if it’s true.
