CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -

All lanes of traffic have reopened after a four vehicle accident closed off Cumming Highway in Cherokee County and injured three people.

The wreck was near the intersection of Beavers Road in the Macedonia community.

Georgia State Patrol received a call around 3:40 p.m. about a four-car crash involving two pickup trucks, one passenger car and one tractor trailer.

According to GSP, the pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Cumming Highway when the driver clipped the back of a car that had slowed for traffic in an attempt to avoid a collision. The pickup truck then crossed over into the westbound lanes and hit a tractor trailer head on. GSP says the tractor trailer hit another pickup truck.

The driver of one of the pickup trucks was airlifted to Grady Hospital and the tractor trailer driver was taken to Northside Cherokee. The driver of the second pickup truck was taken to North Fulton Hospital.

GSP says charges are pending.

SKYFOX 5 captured images of the scene.

FOX 5 will provide new information as it becomes available.
