CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Near North Side man bonded out of jail after being charged with injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run accident early Wednesday in the Northwest Side Logan Square neighborhood.

Daniel Gluckman, 34, was driving near the 2700 block of North Hamlin Avenue when his car hit a 39-year-old man at 12:05 a.m., police said in a statement. Gluckman drove off, refusing to stop, but officers chased his car and arrested him near Le Moyne Street and Monticello Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said.

The 39-year-old was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in “stable” condition, police said.

Gluckman, of the 800 block of West Blackhawk Street, is charged with one felony count each of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated fleeing and leaving the scene of an accident that caused injury, police said. He is also facing two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Gluckman was released after posting 10 percent of his bond, which was set at $150,000 during a hearing Thursday.

He is next scheduled to appear in court July 23.
