Police: missing father and son found safe in Alabama

SMYRNA, Ga. -

A missing father and his 9-year-old son have been safely located at a camp site in Alabama.

The child is now with his mother and is unharmed.

Police were called out to the 1000 block of Oakdale Drive shortly after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. According to police, a man was threatening to commit suicide.

Police say Ryan Stow, 35, was missing when they arrived and left the home with his son Braiden Cole Stow.

Police describe Stow as being a tall, white male, weighing about 160 pounds with green eyes and several tattoos. Braiden Stow is described as being 4 foot, 8 inches tall and weighing around 60 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

There are no pending charges against Stow and Smyrna Police say the matter is closed.
