OBAMA ECONOMY IN NOVA - 11:10 President Obama goes to Northern Virginia this morning. The President tours and the McLean headquarters of the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center. At the conclusion the President will urge Congress to pass the Highway Bill. The White House also touts 7 areas where they will point to improvement: jobs, manufacturing, housing, auto makers, healthcare, energy and income. Critics maintain the progress is incremental and in pockets.

MARYLAND VA RECORDS - The current spotlight in problems at the US Veterans Affairs Department has exposed record handling problems in Maryland. During a Congressional hearing last night, officials testifies that the mishandling of thousands of records at the Baltimore's U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs office delayed payments of over $25,000 to some veterans. Inspector General testified There are major problems with record keeping in Baltimore. In one case a employee brought private records from their home in suitcases

JUDGE BANS REDSKIN NAME - Former NY Giant Barrett Green is suing the Redskins in Federal Court, claiming right end Robert Royal intentionally injured Greens knee as part of a "bounty program". But now U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte who is presiding on the case nun Greenbelt, has ordered attorneys in the case not to use the team’s name in his courtroom. In a ruling he wrote "the Court will refrain from using the team name unless reference is made to a direct quote where the name appears.” He further ordered the Redskins be called “the Washington Team.”

VIRGINIA GOODWILL DIAMOND - Talk about a diamond in the rough. Someone has anonymously donated a A 3-carat diamond ring to a Northern Virginia Goodwill thrift store. Workers at Goodwill's Annandale store said the diamond ring was dropped off in a bag with some other jewels. Goodwill went out and had, then posted it online for a website auction. The high bid is over 9,000 and it could go higher before the auction ends later this morning. Goodwill plans to use the proceeds for its employment training programs
