If you've listened to the radio lately, you may have heard the song "Rude" by the Toronto-based reggae band MAGIC!

The tune is the story behind a young male lover who is asking his girlfriend's father for his permission to marry his daughter. The father responds with a resounding 'no,' and the chorus of the song claims he is going to marry her anyway.

Well, one father decided to respond to the band's message of "marrying her anyway" by picking up his guitar and turning on his webcam.

Benji Cowart's version of the song still includes a 'no' for an answer and essentially tells the suitor how unfit he is for his daughter.

He tells him he if he wants to marry his daughter, he'll have to make more than "burgers and fries", and move out of his mother's basement considering he's already 28.

Benji gets a little help from his wife, Jenna, for the chorus that goes, "Why you gotta call me rude? I'm doing what a dad should do. Keep her from a fool like you, and if you marry her anyway, marry that girl I'm gonna punch your face, marry that girl I'll make you go away, marry that girl, in the bottom of a lake."

The message here? If you want to become a part of the Cowart family, you better have a job, place of your own, and maybe even a little musical talent.
