GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

Gwinnett County firefighters were called to a house fire early Friday morning.

The home is located off Sugarloaf Parkway, between Highway 29 and Old Norcross Road.

Firefighters arrived on the scene around 3:00 a.m., and found the split-level wood frame fully engulfed when they arrived.

Fire crews couldn’t immediately enter the burning home due to the magnitude of the fire.

The home is considered a total loss, according to officials.

No injuries were reported and according to the Gwinnett County Fire Department the occupants were reportedly staying elsewhere and showed up as crews were battling the fire.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials believe the fire started on the backside of the home.
