. - Today is Thursday, June 26, the 177th day of 2014. There are 188 days left in the year.

BOEHNER V. OBAMA? Speaker John A. Boehner says the House will vote later this year on whether to sue President Obama to force him to follow the law, in what could wind up as a big constitutional clash. House Republicans claim a long list of grievances against the President including overreaching it's legal authority on environmental regulations, bombing Libya, and increasing the federal minimum wage without first seeking congressional approval. Also ignoring immigration laws to making bogus recess appointments. The White House has ridiculed the idea.

HOUSE DC POT BILL - The House's Appropriations Committee passed an amendment introduced of Maryland Rep. Andy Harris's to stop D.C.'s marijuana decriminalization law. The law as written would prevent police for issuing civil tickets for small marijuana possession but some analysts say all's it does would removed police from issuing any tickets at all and not upend the DC law - but instead remove the penalties (essentially legalizing it) Either way it's unlikely to threaten DC law. It's unlikely to pass the House, and would probably not be signed by the President.

VIRGINIA GOP PICKS LAWYER - Virginia legislators have chosen the man who will represent them in the legal cases to come between them and Gov Terry McCauliffle over Obamacare expansion. Paul Clement who argued in the Supreme Court during the 2012 Obamacare case, says he's prepared to argue in Federal Court that the governor has no power to bypass the General Assembly in appropriating federal funds to expand eligibility for coverage under the Affordable Care Act. McCauliffle says his line-item budget veto will allow him to push ahead. The GOP is threatening legal action to stop McAuliffe from expanding health coverage without General Assembly approval.

REMANED DC STREET - A House panel has voted to rename a DC street in front of the Chinese Embassy in Washington after an imprisoned dissident, drawing a sharp response from Beijing. The House Appropriations Committee approved an amendment to its State Department budget for fiscal year 2015 that would rename a stretch of International Place in Northwest Washington to "Liu Xiaobo Plaza." Liu, a pro-democracy activist and writer who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2010, is currently serving an 11-year sentence on charges of subverting the Chinese state. The amendment was proposed by Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va.,
