Autopsy inconclusive for body pulled from Chicago River

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - An autopsy Thursday was inconclusive for a body recovered from the Chicago River near the Loop Wednesday afternoon.

The body of a white man in his 40s remains unidentified Thursday afternoon, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. An autopsy Thursday was inconclusive.

The police Marine Unit responded to the river near Randolph Street about 4:30 p.m. and found the body, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

Crews had searched the same area about 11 a.m. after a person reported seeing a body in the water, but nothing was found at the time, police said.
