Michael Jackson's Spiritual Advisor on Studio 11

Posted: Updated:
Michael Jackson died five years ago this week. One man who knew him extremely well is Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. Boteach served as Jackson’s spiritual advisor for several years. Rabbi Shmuley talked to Christine Devine and Jeff Michael about his time with Jackson as well as the moment he decided to cut ties with the legendary musician.

Rabbi Shmuley was also on Studio 11 to promote his new book, “Kosher Lust.” Rabbi Shmuley explains why the prioritizing of love and companionship in marriage is all wrong, and why we should not go quietly into that dark night of celibate marriage. It is not love, Rabbi Shmuley shows, but lust that is the glue of a marriage. He says it’s important to learn how to restore lust to its rightful place as the central pillar of marriage.

Rabbi Shmuley is giving a talk Thursday night at 8:30 at the Nessah Synagogue at 142 South Rexford Drive in Beverly Hills. It’s $15 for general admission. There’s also a VIP reception at 7pm. It’s $75 presale and $100 at the door. For more information go to Rabbi Shmuley’s Facebook page facebook.com/rabbishmuleyboteach. You can follow him on Twitter: @RabbiShmuley
