Chefs Marcel & Jiro: Sushi Roku Pop Up

Posted: Updated:

In studio Chef Marcel Vigneron and Chef Jiro Kobayashi stopped by to cook up some buzz about Tuesday night’s Sushi Roku Pop UP!

The pop-up dinner is a result of Marcel and Jiro’s collaboration; their passion, style, and signature creativity is alive in each dish

The pop-up dinner is a one-night-only event, and is a complete restaurant takeover—the regular menu will not be available. Seating begins at 6 p.m.

Sushi Roku Hollywood welcomes Chef Marcel Vigneron for a one-night-only pop-up dinner and restaurant takeover. Together with Sushi Roku’s Executive Chef Jiro Kobayashi, the Top Chef and The Next Iron Chef alumnus will offer a $65, six-course prix fixe menu that incorporates their signature personalities into each dish. The final dessert course will be prepared by IDG’s celebrated Executive Pastry Chef for BOA Steakhouse and RivaBella, Sara Variel. Guests will also have the option to add cocktail pairings from IDG’s mixology guru Aaron Alvarez, ordered either à la carte or paired with each course for an additional $25.

Vigneron, known for his time on Bravo and Food Network, will bring his trademark passion and creativity to Sushi Roku, continuing the restaurant’s tradition of infusing centuries-old Japanese culinary traditions with international flavor and flair. Sushi Roku’s Kobayashi has helped establish the IDG flagship restaurant as a pioneer of the “sexy sushi” movement in his native city of Los Angeles. He combines his appreciation for the traditional art of sushi with his passion for incorporating international sources of umami, such as topping salmon carpaccio with shaved black truffles and parmesan, to create gorgeous contemporary sushi creations.

Kobayashi and Vigneron’s specially-created menu, which will be served during two seatings, includes a trio of appetizers, sashimi, salad, hot plates, signature sushi, and dessert.

PRICE: $65 per person (six courses)

$25 for cocktail pairings

WHEN: Tuesday, June 24, 2014

2 waves of seatings, beginning at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Sutter Zachman had his first record deal when he was barely out of his teens. You may have seen the Orange County native was on stage at the Largo and other hot clubs around LA. He then left town...after what he called a few "bouts" with the music business, but now he is back with a new EP called ‘Repeat Offender.'
