West Windsor, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Laura Gironda invited Chasing New Jersey to hit the golf-course with her during her final competition at this year’s Special Olympics.

Gironda chose her grandfather to be her partner for the Games and the dynamic duo is currently tied for third-place.

“It’s been awesome getting to know people, see how they do and how nice they are,” she shared.

Spectators at the Games kept complimenting Gironda on her swing and how perfect it was, a skill she can thank her grandfather and his words of advice for.

There was big news in other Special Olympics sports too! The Unified Basketball team made it to ESPN as the top 10 play! Diaquell Hutchins had a buzzer beating 3-pointer to tie up the game.

Team New Jersey is playing really well in the competitions and the Games will continue through July 1, 2014.

One girl's threat to post another girl's nude photos on Instagram led to an investigation that uncovered a teen sexting ring involving six juveniles and four New Jersey towns. Little Falls Detective Sergeant James Briggs said that the two girls that initiated the investigation allegedly dated the same boy at separate times. The boy then passed on nude photos that he received from one of the girls onto the other.
