Two armed home invasions reported in Albany Park

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are warning residents in the Northwest Side Albany Park neighborhood about two armed home invasions reported over the past month.

One invasion occurred in the 5800 block of North Jersey Avenue on June 7 at 9:50 p.m., according to a community alert issued Tuesday by Chicago Police. Another took place in the 6300 block of North Lowell Avenue on June 16 at 1:05 p.m.

In both incidents, two to three male suspects forced their way into the victims’ homes, showed a handgun, and searched through the houses. In one incident, one of the suspects fired a weapon, and in the other, they claimed to be police officials in search of someone, police said.

All three suspects are described as black males, about 5-foot-7, weighing about 150 pounds and wearing tight ski masks or hooded sweatshirts, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
