Meet Anna: The real-life Elsa from Disney's "Frozen"

Posted: Updated:
Orlando, FL - A Daytona Beach teen has become an overnight sensation all because people say she looks like one of the main characters in the animated musical Disney movie "Frozen" and her picture has gone viral. We're talking about 18-year-old Anna Faith Carlson.

"After watching the movie it made me cry, it made me laugh, it made me happy, it made me sad, every emotion is in that movie and so afterwards I walked out feeling super inspired, [but] still not knowing I was the "Elsa" yet because I didn't post the picture,” said the 18-year-old.

Carlson is talking about this picture she posted on Instagram. She's side-by-side with the Disney's "Frozen" character Elsa, the Snow Queen. In the past three weeks, so many people said she resembled Elsa so much she started making public appearances like for 3-year-old Olivia Lynam's birthday party.

"The kids just flock her, and they love her, and she has a good heart," said Olivia’s mother, Jessica Lynam. “It's so special. They never forget that kind of stuff when they're little."

Anna's 15-year-old sister, Alexus Grace Carlson, has also jumped on the band wagon.

"It's mainly her being known as Elsa so I felt like I wanted to be a part of it because I love the movie. It's a great movie,” said Alexus Grace Carlson.

Anna has been modeling, acting, and singing since she was in the second grade, but after posting this picture she became internet sensation. In 24 hours, she gained 100,000 Instagram followers.

"People can be really creepy and say horrible things so you're going to get hate and happiness everywhere, it just comes along with it," said Anna.

“But if we ever go on a trip like this, our parents usually come with us,” said her sister.

Everywhere they go these girls are dressing up and inspiring kids.

"They can't afford to go to Disney so they're overwhelmed with joy and that's what we live for, we love seeing their faces,” said Anna.

“Kids in the hospitals can't go to Disney World, so it's great because we get to bring the love that Disney made in the "Frozen" movie and we get to share it with them and so it's a great experience,” said Alexus.

Disney's "Frozen" has been a huge success since its release in November. The animated musical movie made $1.2 billion worldwide in the box office.

Anna, also known as Elsa, wants to pursue her acting and singing career. Her younger sister wants to go to medical school.
