PG Fire Department rescue two people from the Patuxent river

Prince George's County Fire Department were able to rescue to people from an overturned canoe in Bowie, Md.

According to PGFD Public information officer Lt. Paul Gomez crews responded, around 5pm Saturday afternoon, in the area of the 18400 block of Queen Anne Bridge Road.

Crews used boats and a helicopter to locate the victims who were stuck in the middle of the Patuxent River.

Fire crews located the victims after communicating with them via phone and were able to bring them to shore.

They were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
