Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - Jason Heyward has left the Braves' game against the Angels after being hit on his right hand by a pitch from C.J. Wilson.

Heyward was hit on the top of his hand leading off the first inning in Friday night's game. Heyward scored on a three-run homer by Evan Gattis, but Jordan Schafer hit for him in the second inning.

Heyward was examined by Braves assistant trainer Jim Lovell in the first inning.

The Braves provided no immediate update on Heyward's status.
