TAKOMA PARK, Md. - A large tree is down on home in the 7200 block of Cedar Avenue in Takoma Park.

No one in the home was hurt.

The damage is believed to be related to the storms that tore across Montgomery County Wednesday night.

Storms passing through the D.C. region has caused flooding issues throughout the area as well as houses catching on fire due to possible lightning strikes.

Montgomery County fire officials say there has been at least ten water rescues Wednesday night due to cars being stuck in high water. Four people had to be taken to the hospital. Three or four pedestrians were also struck by vehicles Wednesday night.

There have also been three house fires that appear to be caused by lightning. Pete Piringer of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue says two firefighters were injured in a two-alarm fire at a two-story townhouse in the 1600 block of Yale Place in Rockville. The injuries are non-life-threatening. People were inside the home at the time, but were evacuated.

Another fire occurred at a single-family home in the 12800 block of River Road in Potomac. The third fire happened in Bethesda on Democracy Boulevard. There were no injuries in either of these two incidents.
