Driver In Crash Involving Tracy Morgan Due In Court Today

Posted: Updated:
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. -

A court hearing is expected Monday for the driver accused in a deadly weekend pile up on the New Jersey Turnpike that left actor Tracy Morgan critically injured.

The actor sustained a broken femur, broken nose and several broken ribs in the chain-reaction crash.

Fellow comedian and mentor James McNair, also known as "Uncle Jimmy Mack," died in the crash.

Walmart truck driver Kevin Roper, 35, is facing one-count of death by automobile and counts of assault.

Morgan is said to be more responsive as he recuperates at a New Brunswick hospital.

Meanwhile, Hollywood is sending caring thoughts to the comedian. Philadelphia's Kevin Hart tweeted on Sunday, "I ask all of you to throw a special prayer up to the big fella for my friend – Tracy Morgan. He's been on my mind heavy."

And actor Samuel L. Jackson tweeted, sending out prayers for Tracy Morgan: "Hope he has a full recovery from his accident. Good vibes for a good dude."

FOX 29 legal analyst Ken Rothweiler will be around to discuss the charges against Roper later this morning on "Good Day Philadelphia."
