College Professor Accused Of Being A Fraud

Posted: Updated:

Lakeland-FL- Teachers are usually the ones who give out Fs for failing grades, but a college professor in Florida is getting a "F" for fake.

If Anthony Bates named his favorite professors at Polk State College, David Broxterman would be near the top.

"I learned so much. It was an invaluable experience, which is why the whole situation is just so unbelievable because of just how good a professor he actually was," said Bates.

Apparently, good at lying too.

The Polk State Attorney's Office says Broxterman is a fraud.

He claimed to be Ph.D., when Polk State hired him in 2008.

Not true, say investigators.

Investigators say Broxterman falsified a diploma from the University of South Florida.

And made a lot of glaring errors.

USF’s president signs diplomas “Judy L. Genshaft” – Broxterman’s was signed “Judith C. Genshaft.”

There were only three signatures on Broxterman’s diploma, when there should have been four.

The USF seal was wrong. (The real seal is gold; Broxterman’s was black and white.)

Investigators said his transcripts were falsified as well.
