Brandon Marshall discusses contract with Bears

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - The Chicago Bears held a press conference with wide receiver Brandon Marshall and GM Phil Emery Thursday.

The press conference came three days after the Bears announced Marshall signed a three-year, $30 million contract extension with the team. During the media availability, Bears GM Phil Emery remarked that Marshall is an integral part of the Bears organization.

"He is a special player and a teammate. This is a man that has grown everyday," Emery said.

Marshall took time during the event to thank the Bears and fans for their enormous support.

"It means a lot to me, so I just want to thank everyone. It's not really about me, it's about the people around me. It's about the team," Marshall said during the news conference.

Marshall says he is looking forward to his future with the Bears. Watch the entire press conference in the player above.

Marshall caught 100 passes for 1,295 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2013. He is one of only three players in franchise history with 1,000-yard receiving yards in back-to-back seasons, joining Curtis Conway (1995-96) and Marty Booker (2001-02).
