FBI DIRECTOR POT JOKE - James Comey hasn't made many headlines since he took over as FBI director and this is one he might want back. The Wall Street Journal reported during a conference he publicly joked during a Q&A session hat some of the people he's looking to hire to fight cybercrime "want to smoke weed on the way to the interview." Comey backtracked on the remark during a public scolding one Capitol Hill by Senator Jeff Sessions.  At issue is FBI's ban on hiring people who have admitted smoking pot in the last five years.  Comeys joke was followed by an explanation that the policy may be hurting the bureaus ability to recruit top-flight cyber talent.

MARYLANDER HEADS BENGHAZI DEMS - House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday finally picked her team for a GOP-led Benghazi investigative committee and a Congressman from Maryland will lead her team. Rep. Elijah Cummings will be the the ranking democrat of the panel along with five other democrats. The committee will investigate the Sept. 11, 2012, attack in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.  Cummings the top Democrat on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and is known to publicly and loudly spar with the chairman of that committee, GOP Rep. Darrell Issa.

MEASLES SCARE - There are new health concerns about the potential outbreak of measles in our area after an outbreak in Northern Virginia. Officials are looking into measles exposures in Virginia, the DC & Maryland between May 11 and May 15 when a 2nd case of the disease was confirmed.  Yesterday the Department of Health in Virginia put out a follow-up on a  a May 6 warning of possible exposures in Loudoun & Fairfax counties. The second measles case was just confirmed in someone who was in close contact with a patient who was the source of the first investigation.

WEBB SPEAKS - 12:00 pm - After dropping a political surprise, that he's considering running for President Former Virginia Senator Jim Webb will make his first public appearance since Mondays announcement. Washington, DC. Today, Webb will speak at the National Archives in DC  TO discuss his new memoir "I Heard My Country Calling".  In his radio announcement Webb, a democrat, was highly critical of U.S. Foreign policy under the Obama administration and would he a challenger on the right to the potential campaign of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
