Hoards of international paparazzi and fans greeted Tara the cat as she arrived at the Sam Lynn Ball Park in Bakersfield, California.

Tara and 4-year-old Jeremy Triantafilo were invited to throw out the first pitch of the game between the Bakersfield Blaze and the Lancaster Jethawks.

The boy and his super hero pet have rocketed to international celebrity after a video of Tara rescuing Jeremy from a dog attack went viral.

Reporters from as far away as Germany, Brazil and Japan showed up in Bakersfield to witness Tara's debut on the mound.

Jeremy was playing in his driveway when the dog attacked, clenching the boy's leg in its jaws.
