MONTGOMERY SCHOOLS MUSLIM HOLIDAY - Should Muslim Holidays get equal billing like Yon Kippur ? Montgomery County Muslim leaders are asking school officials that their holiday of "Eid al-Adha" be put on the calendar like as the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur on Montgomery’s 2015-2016 school calendar. It turns out next year in 2015, both holidays will fall on the same day: September 23rd. But the draft calendar for the year only lists the Jewish holiday, not the Muslim one. Muslim leaders say they plan to continue their push for recognition despite previous failures to get their holidays put on the school calendar.

MCDONNELLS IN COURT - A judge will hear legal arguments in Richmond today in the corruption case of Former Virginia Governor Bib McDonnell and his wife Maureen. The Former Governors lawyers are trying to get the case thrown out or have the cases tried separately. The McDonnell's are facing a 14-count indictment charging they sold the access and power of the Commonwealths governor’s office to businessman Johnnie Williams in exchange for loans, gifts and vacation properties. Both the McDonnells have entered pleas of not guilty, the jury trial is scheduled for this summer on July 28.

ARLINGTON STREETCAR COSTS RISING - The proposed Arlington street car is years away from picking up passengers but it has been picking up new proposed costs. County officials have announced They've raised their construction estimate by $48 million its estimate for building the streetcar. They now says it will cost $358 million to build the 4 1/ 2-mile line. Some Arlington County Board members who oppose the line are arp guy. Member Libby Garvey says the previous low-ball estimates were either irresponsible or designed to attract support. In 2013 they announced a $61 million increase.

OBAMACARE PRICING - You better pay attention to the latest health insurance jargon. It could mean thousands coming out of your wallet. The Obama administration has approved a new cost-control strategy called "reference pricing." It lets insurers and employers put a dollar limit on what health plans pay for some expensive procedures, such as knee and hip replacements. Some patients could be surprised with big medical bills they must pay themselves. Picking an expensive hospital could trigger the controls. Other experts say reference pricing will help check rising premiums.
