Baby Ducks Rescued From Storm Drain

Posted: Updated:

Indianapolis, IN-  A group of soldiers from the U.S. Army taking a lunch break sprang into action to save baby ducks that fell into a storm drain.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon in the west side of Indianapolis.

Billy J. Clark, who discovered the ducks in the drain, says she heard the ducks calling for help and called the police.

"When I couldn't get into the grate, my heart just sank. But, what was worse was the mama. She didn't want to get near me, and she kept going into the street. And, she almost got squished a number of times by cars. I was worried about a car accident. It brought me to tears," said Clark.

All of the ducks were pulled to safety and reunited with their mom.
