Posted: Updated:

Philadelphia police have released surveillance video that shows the mid-day shooting of a man on a sidewalk by a teen riding a bicycle in the city's Hartranft neighborhood.

The shooting occurred on Sunday, April 27, at 1:25 p.m. on the 2900 block of North Marshall Street.

When police arrived, they found the wounded 46-year-old victim at the corner of Marshall and Indiana Avenue.

Surveillance video shows two unknown males riding up from behind, one of them holds out a handgun, and the victim was struck once in the chest.

East Detectives say the suspect then rode off south on Marshall Street.

Police described the gunman as a dark-complected black male in his teens, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt. The second rider was a light-complected Hispanic or black male wearing a light-colored shirt with stripes. Both were said to be riding BMX-type bike.

According to police, the victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was immediately taken into surgery and listed in extremely critical condition.

If you see these suspects, police say do not approach them; call 9-1-1 immediately. To submit a tip, call 215-686-TIPS (8477), text it to PPD TIP (773847) or you can use this online submission form.
