VETERANS HEALTH CARE HEARING - 10:00 AM The chief watchdog for the VA will testify Today that it must immediately focus on delivering quality health care in order to save lives, as VA Secretary Eric Shinseki prepared to testify he would take “timely action” if allegations tying patient deaths to delayed care are proven true. 9/11 MUSEUM DEDICATION - Over 12 years since the 9/11 Attacks in Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York, President Barack Obama and Sept. 11 survivors, rescuers and victims' relatives are expected to mark the opening of the 9/11 museum, where the story of the terrorist attacks is told on a scale as big as the twin towers' columns and as intimate as victims' last voicemails. The National September 11 Memorial Museum is set to be dedicated Thursday before opening to the general public May 21.

INTERSECTION OF DOOM FIX? The infamous “intersection of doom” in Roslyn may be getting a makeover. Arlington county officials have ok'd upgrades to the area. The area is a lighting rod for bikers, since a woman was hit on a No problem. bike hosplitized and ticketed even though she had the right of way. The changes widen curbs at the intersection to slow cars down and give bikers more visibility. The upgrades also improves the lights and signs at the intersection. Work is supposed to next spring of 2015 and last a year

MONTGOMERY HOMELESS DOWN - Big progress is being reported in Montgomery County when it comes to the number of homeless people in the County. A report by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments finds between during a January last year and this year, homelessness was was down by 11 percent. The study has there were 891 homeless in its last survey compared to 1,004 homeless. It’s the smallest amount of homeless people ever counted in the county. How did it happen? Montgomery officials say it's increased focus to placing homeless people to housing.
