(WJBK) - Detroit police are asking for the public's help locating a prisoner who escaped custody at a hospital.

They say 19-year-old Kenneth Hickman was being treated at Sinai Grace Hospital for a gunshot wound sustained during an armed robbery attempt on May 9.

He was receiving treatment around 6:06 p.m. Wednesday when he escaped from his bed. The officer who was assigned to him is said to have stepped out of the room believing Hickman was handcuffed down.

Hickman was last seen wearing a white shirt with burgundy hospital pants.

If you see him or have information about his whereabouts call 911. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
