PHOENIX (AP) - A hazardous-materials incident involving a small fuel spill backed up traffic on a Phoenix freeway on Monday.

Photos posted on Twitter by ADOT showed fire trucks blocking the two right-hand lanes and a ramp from westbound I-10 to southbound I-17 was closed.

The Department of Public Safety says the spill involves a tractor-trailer that is dripping fuel after debris hit one of its fuel tanks.

DPS says several collisions are reported in the area along southbound I-17 related to the backup.

Ramps from I-10 to I-17 were closed for a short time.
