Some parents outraged over graphic sex education book

Posted: Updated:
A controversial sex education book available to middle school students in Missouri has some parents outraged.

The book titled "Perfectly Normal" contains cartoon drawings of naked people and others involved in sexual acts.

Although it indicates it's meant for kids 10 years and up, it's still making some parents uncomfortable and they want it removed.

According to the authors of the book, it talks about changing bodies, growing up, and sex.

Parents say the drawings are explicit and the life-like cartoon images actually shows people having sex.

Tim Schmidt, a father of two, has filed a formal complaint to have the book removed.

School officials say they're keeping it available as a resource for checkout in the library.
