Designer to host origami lamp shade class

Posted: Updated:
Remember Cootie Catchers from your childhood? Loren Weiner will be guiding students on another trip down memory lane.

She will teach a class on how to create glowing ambient lighting out of those nostalgic origami fortune tellers you played with as a kid. Vellum paper is used to create a three dimensional geometric lamp shade. This special paper warms your space with a unique diffused glow that an ordinary shade cannot provide. All materials including a table lamp will be provided by Loren. A $24 materials fee will be due to instructor.

Classes will be held at the Community House in Birmingham May 21 and 28.
