. - Today is Tuesday, May 6, the 126th day of 2014. There are 239 days left in the year.

FAIRFAX GATHERING LIMITS -The 1st Amendment provides for 'the right of the people peaceably to assemble". But a proposed ordinance in Fairfax County could upend that. A County Supervisor warns the plan to ban "frequent and large gatherings at neighborhood homes" is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The zoning ordinance limits "group assembly" at residences to 49 people a day. Such gatherings "shall not occur more frequently than 3 times in any 40-day period." County officials say they have received complaints about group meetings at homes. Churches, scouts, sports fans drawn to a home's big-screen TV during playoffs could be potential targets of the proposed county law. Realtors say open houses would invite civil penalties.

ARLINGTON BAR CRAWLS - What happens when a fun idea goes a little too far? some folks in Arlington says the local "Bar Crawl" events in their neighborhood are a prime example. Arlington Police Chief M. Douglas Scott says he's I'm favor of now clamping down on the number of crawls and how many tickets are sold. Turns out, Arlington has no permitting process for the events and neighbors are getting their fill of the drunken crowds. Police report. St Patricks crawl in March caused 45 police calls, 17 fist fights, 25 arrests, 16 ambulance calls &10 public urinations. Oh, and that was only by 7pm.

MARYLAND HEALTHCARE BOSS EXEC FIRED - Maryland's mess of a Healthcare exchanged just cost the CEO of the company that developed it his job. Paul von Ebers, president and CEO at Noridian Mutual Insurance Co. is out after a unanimous board vote Monday. Maryland had paid the company about $55 million before cutting its tiesin February. Maryland exchange officials blamed Noridian, its prime contractor, for using unworkable "off-the-shelf" technology. They have since said they will ditch the site and adopt technology used in Connecticut, hiring Deloitte Consulting LLP for $40 million to $50 million.

WHITE HOUSE BENGHAZI PANEL - Don't look for allot of help from the Obama Administration with the New House Select Committee on Benghazi. The White House said Monday it won't cooperate with a new House select committee investigating the attack in Benghazi. Press secretary Jay Carney said that the White House has "always cooperated with legitimate oversight," but called the new probe a “highly partisan effort to politicize” the deadly attack. Speaker John Boehner announced that Rep. Trey Gowdy will head the new select committee. House Democrats have not yet said whether they would participate in the select committee.

Today's History:

In 1889, the Paris Exposition formally opened, featuring the just-completed Eiffel Tower.

In 1937, the hydrogen-filled German airship Hindenburg burned and crashed in Lakehurst, N.J., killing 35 on board and a Navy crewman on the ground.

In 2013, three women who'd gone missing separately about a decade earlier while in their teens or early 20s, were rescued from a house just south of downtown Cleveland.

Fruit packaged by the Wawona Packing Company out of Cutler, California and sold at stores across the country is being voluntarily recalled. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says there is a possibility the recalled products may be contaminated with listeria. No illnesses have been linked to the recall. Certain lots of peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots sold at Trader Joe's, Costco, Sam's Club and Fresh Direct could be contaminated with the dangerous food-borne pathogen.
