Kevin Spacey sits down with FOX 32 about new documentary

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Kevin Spacey is one of those actors who is great to talk about.

"What's in the box?"

"Wait, was he Kyser Soze?"

"Forget that! Have you started watching House of Cards yet?"

FOX 32's Jake Hamilton had the chance to sit down with the two-time Oscar winner to talk about his new documentary "Now: In the Wings on a World Stage," which follows his world-traveling production of Shakespeare's Richard III.

Jake began the interview by drawing comparisons between the classic play and his own past films.

Both Richard III and Seven feature a head in a box. Both Richard III and the Usual Suspects feature a character with a physical ailment. His ruthless House of Cards character Francis Underwood is even based on Richard III.

Spacey was almost met with harsh criticism when he left the world of movies behind to embark on the tour. But flash forward to today, and he is considered a game changer.

He says that audiences don't care where they are getting entertainment from. Whether it's a movie, a theater stage or a series on Netflix, they just want it to be good.

But what we don't undervalue is our own city of Chicago, and neither does Spacey.

Kevin Spacey is nothing short of a legend, and whether we're enjoying him on the silver screen, or on Netflix, or on a world's stage, we hope he will give us something to talk about for many years to come.
