Detroit cycling event to celebrate spring in the city

Posted: Updated:
Roll in to spring and kick off national bike month with Tour de Troit's 3rd Annual Cycle Into Spring, Saturday, May 10th at 9 a.m. The 20-mile cycling event held in collaboration with the Detroit Eastside Community Collaborative will begin and end on the banks of the Detroit River at Maheras Gentry Park in Detroit.

Cycle Into Spring attracted over 500 riders in 2013 and has raised over $5,000 for the Conner Creek Greenway since 2012. Seven miles of this greenway are currently complete, and funds raised at this year's Cycle Into Spring will support programming and the development of the final two miles.

Day-of ride registration (no lunch) is available for $35; t-shirt not guaranteed. Residents of CCG-adjacent zip codes (48213, 48214, 48215, 48205, and 48234) can register day-of for $25. A t-shirt is included with all pre-registration (size not guaranteed after April 16).

Parents and teachers know school supplies don't come cheap. Many teachers even buy school supplies out-of-pocket. But now, a new Detroit company is doing more than selling school supplies - they're also giving back.
