MILITARY SEX ASSAULTS - Reports of sexual assaults in the military rose 50% after the Pentagon began a campaign to get more victims to come forward, prompting defense officials to order a greater focus on prevention programs,
including plans to review alcohol sales and policies.  But officials are still unhappy with the low number of male victims who reported sexual assault, and they say there will be a greater emphasis in the months ahead on getting men to come forward and seek
help.  about 14 percent of the reports filed last year involved male victims.


MARYLAND TRANGENDERED BATHROOMS - Two Maryland lawmakers are trying to overturn a recently passed transgender rights bill which they claim would allow men to walk freely into ladies' restrooms.   Republican state Delegates Neil
Parrott & Kathy Szeliga -- started a petition drive Tuesday to get the issue on the November ballot to let voters decide. If signed, Maryland would join California in becoming the 2nd state to have adopted such a law. The Maryland bill, "The Fairness for All
Marylanders Act of 2014" more broadly bans discrimination based on gender identity related to employment, housing and public accommodations. 


TEACHER OF THE YEAR - 2:30 p.m. Sean McComb is a teacher at Maryland's Patapsco High School & Center for the Arts in Baltimore County.  For 7 years he's taught English teacher has guided students through a program that has given

TRUST FOR NATIONAL MALL - 11:30 a.m. "America's Front Lawn" has seen better days.  It's no secret that the National Mall needs work and the Trust for the National Mall has been an organization trying to raise funds and direction
for restoring the lawns, updating the facilties and preserving and area that is iconicly Washington.  Today as the Washington Monument is just weeks away from reopening, they'll hold the 7th Annual Benefit Luncheon.  All the major backers of TNM will attend
and they'll be ready to hightlight what they've already done and the plans ahead.
