PEPCO SALE - Everybody's favorite power company punching bag is about to get a new owner. Pepco Holdings, the 100 old Washington-based utility that often hammered for its power outages, is being sold to nuclear energy giant Exelon in an all-cash $6 billion dollar deal that would bring the Chicago company to the DC area market. The takeover would the end the stand alone ownership of for one of the area’s oldest utilities, but it also might bring better service for consumers and a small boost for Pepco shareholders.

VIRGINIA DREAMERS COLLEGE - Should the children of illegal immigrants brought here by their parents get in state tuition? Virginia Attorney General Mark R. Herring thinks so. Herring has announced the so called "Dreamers" can qualify for in-state college tuition under existing law. Herring made the announcement at Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria campus just a few months after the legislature did not pass to the idea. At UVA the tuition is $12,998 for in-state students, but $42,184 for out of state.

ILLNESS AT FOOD SAFTEY - Isn't irony, ironic? Maryland Health officials are investigating what may have sickened over 100 people who attended a conference where more than 1,300 food safety experts had gathered. No one at the Food Safety Summit held April 8-10 in Baltimore was hospitalized, according to health officials, and most people reported cases of diarrhea. On April 16. officials inspected and issued a violation for condensation dripping from an ice machine
