2 Officers And Third Person Injured At Football Game

PENNSVILLE, N.J. -

The Pennsville Midget Football Fair was just winding down following a three day run, which focused on several 6 to 12 year olds and their families when a brawl broke out on Friday.

Fox29's Dave Kinchen reports

The brawl involved dozens of teens, injuring two police officers and a third person.

"They come right in front of me and then they were hitting each other, punching each other, all these kids," said Justin Przybycien. "I think i got punched one time. I got pushed. I mean it just came over to you."

Justin Przybycien shot a smart phone video of the madness, and says he even got some of the pepper spray police used to quell the crowd.

“I couldn't see anything. Me and my friends were like teared up, crying," he said.

Pennsville police say the brawl began towards the end of the night with a large group growing rowdy and scuffling with one of the suspects jumping on the officer trying to escort them out Riverview Beach Park.

"At that point it became a melee. There were several officers that were attacked," said Pennsville Police Chief Allen J. Cummings. "One of our guys, his right shoulder was dislocated and another officer had a fractured right hand," he said.

"They were jumping on people's cars that were parked here. Kids just acting crazy. I’ve never seen anything like that in my entire life," Przybycien said.

Police say it then spilled into this nearby store, which had to be shutdown.

At least three juveniles were arrested, along with three adults.

Police say some of the alleged attackers are bragging about the incident on social media.

They expect more arrests to follow.
