Christie's 120th Town Hall Meeting

Posted: Updated:
Brick, New Jersey (MY9NJ) -

Yesterday Governor Christie took to the streets yet again with his 120th town hall meeting that took place in Brick, New Jersey. Apart from the usual fanfare that comes along with Christie visiting a local township, the governor seemed a bit more presidential this time around by taking photos with those who attended the conference. Speaking to the numerous issues that Christie is known to address, the town hall went off without a hitch.

During the town hall, one woman mentioned to Christie the efforts made by the Girl Scouts of America and persuaded Christie to put on a tee-shirt that stated, “He was man enough to be a Girl Scout”. After putting on the shirt, Christie received much applause. While the governor was wrapping up his final remarks, one resident told him that he doesn’t buy that Christie was "petty" enough to close the George Washington Bridge lane for political retribution, but he asked Christie how will he respond now that people say he created this culture that allowed something like this to happen. Christie responded by saying all you have to do is look at his four years in office.

“Bi-partisan agreements, on a whole host of things that Democrats couldn’t agree on together before we got here; that’s not the type of person who divides people, that’s the type of person who brought people together,” Christie exclaimed.

With the 2016 presidential elections getting closer, each town hall event has been crucial to solidify Christie as a top contender if he chooses to run by the end of this year. And if this town hall was any indication of the governor's actions, New Jerseyeans can expect to see Christie trying to connect with his audiences on a more personal level than previously seen before.

The lake is called Lake Hopatcong but some would call it Lake "Hopat-conda"! Recently, there was a fifteen-foot anaconda spotted in the lake by local resident Tony Colantonio. According to Colantonio, the snake was actually harassing him while he was swimming in the lake so he proceeded to sprint out with no harm done."It was straight across, right where the boat is but a little further back. And I just got out of the water and just took off like a bandit!" He said.
