UBER MARYLAND - Uber, the super popular app driven car service is running into some unwelcome regulatory traffic in Maryland. A Maryland Public Service Commission Judge proposed Thursday to make Uber and car share service like Lyft "common carriers" forcing them under the same regulations as taxis. Uber has said to leave Maryland if the commission votes next month to classify as a cab company. That would be a victory for old fashioned cab businesses, who say the Uber smartphone app that puts together passengers with drivers, gives Uber an unfair advantage.

VA MEDICAID SUPPORT POLL - If Virginia Governor Terry McCauliffe is serious about his threat to shutdown state Government if Republicans won't go along with his plan to expand Medicaid in the state, he might not have the backing of voters that he's claimed he's had. A new poll finds a majority of Virginians oppose using federal Medicaid funds to expand health coverage. The Christopher Newport University poll found that 53% of the state’s voters oppose enrolling more Virginians in the federal-state health program for the poor, a big turnaround from February, when the same poll found that 56% backed expansion.

ISLAMIC WEBSITE SENTENCING - In Federal Court in Alexandria Virginia today a man from New Jersey man who prosecutors maintain used his groups’s Islamic Web page as a weapon to push for violence against people he found offend Islam prompting several terrorist plots will be sentenced today. Yousef al-Khattab faces three years in prison, arguing that he and the organization he helped found, Revolution Muslim encouraged online followers to commit terror . Khattab ended his Revolution Muslim’s regular participation in 2009, prosecutors argue his actions “set in motion a sequence of events in the hands of of others spiraled into even more serious criminal activity.”

MD GOVERNORS DEBATE - You know your getting close to Primary Day when they announce the debates. The first TV debate in Maryland's Democratic Gubernatorial primary will be be May 7, there will also be debate on June 2, according to the TV stations producing them. The first debate between Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown, Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler and Del. Heather R. Mizeur will be 7 p.m. May 7 at the University of Maryland, College Park and will be shown on WRC. Maryland Public Television will air the second debate
